DI WU was born in Taipei, Taiwan into a family with a passion for gems and design. Her family has run a jewelry business for generations, gaining recognition as a reputable, trustworthy, and skillful jeweler by Taiwan’s most prestigious customers and collectors. From a young age, Di was inspired to collect and create jewelry as a personal hobby.
Di has a history as a professional dancer, winning accolades of Modern Dance Awards in Taiwan in her teenage years. When an ankle injury tragically ended her dancing career, she dedicated her attention to her interest in design. After moving to the United States in 2007, Di graduated at the Art Institute of Portland with a Bachelor's of Arts in Accessories Design.
In her professional career as a designer, she has worked with many reputable brands including New Balance, Baggalini, Converse and International Fashion Houses. Di is a versatile designer who creates functional, yet beautiful products with an exceptional eye for detail.
Now as an established designer, Di returned to her childhood dream of working with precious stones and Gemologist education with Gemological Institute of America. After combining her passion for jewelry and design, BOÎTE LAQUE was created with the goal to curate timeless, quality jewelry.
